DYL Software Redesign

Customer Experience First

Project Description

Our company had long envisioned “DYL 2.0,” a modernized software platform that would finally integrate with Salesforce and offer a streamlined onboarding experience. But after months of internal discussion and no tangible progress, I knew it was time to act. As the only team member with front-end development experience, I pitched leadership on a bold reskin initiative—one that would not only modernize the product’s appearance but simplify onboarding, improve usability, and boost customer retention. I personally developed the core front-end in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (with lightweight templating), ensuring long-term maintainability without disrupting existing functionality. Shout out to Baroukh Ovadia for being such a fantastic collaborator during handoff and iteration.

To elevate the visual polish, I hired a UI designer to refine the interface, drawing inspiration from Google’s Material Design. What started as a ground-up redesign became a catalyst for growth: our fresh product experience led to a 32% increase in customer retention, a 44% increase in recurring revenue, and earned DYL a second consecutive spot on the INC5000 list. The screenshots below show just a fraction of the redesign effort. In total, I designed and prototyped hundreds of pages, flows, and micro-interactions, many of which are still in use today.
